Bringing Your Puppy Home

Welcoming a new Shiba Inu puppy into your home is an exciting and joyful experience. At Addington Shibas, we strive to make this transition as smooth and stress-free as possible for both you and your puppy.

Preparing for Your Puppy

Before your puppy comes home, we provide guidance on:

  • Essential supplies – crate, food, bedding, toys, and grooming tools.

  • Safe spaces – creating a comfortable, puppy-proofed area where your new companion can settle in.

  • Feeding schedule & diet – recommendations to ensure proper nutrition from day one.

What Comes with Your Puppy

Every Addington Shiba puppy goes home with:

  • Health records – up-to-date vaccinations, deworming, and veterinary checks.

  • AKC registration paperwork (limited or full, depending on agreement).

  • Starter pack – familiar food, a blanket with mom’s scent, and helpful care tips.

First Days at Home

The first few days are crucial for bonding and helping your puppy adjust. We recommend:

  • Maintaining a calm environment

  • Sticking to a consistent feeding and potty schedule

  • Allowing plenty of rest and short, positive interactions

Ongoing Support

Our relationship doesn’t end when your puppy goes home. We offer continued guidance on training, socialization, and health care to ensure your Shiba Inu thrives in its new home.
