At Addington Shibas, our goal is a smooth, safe hand-off for every Shiba Inu puppy, whether you’re picking up in person or arranging delivery to your nearest major city. Below you’ll find exactly how each option works, what to expect, and how to prepare.
Pickup Process
Follow these simple steps to pick up your Shiba Inu puppy safely and conveniently from our location. We make the process easy, ensuring a smooth handoff and a happy start to your journey together.

Discover the simple procedure for getting your order shipped directly We offer multiple safe delivery methods. All shipping costs (transport, crate, health certificate, airline/handler fees) are additional to the puppy price and must be paid in full before booking.to your door.
Step-by-Step
Reserve Your Puppy
Place the $500 non-refundable deposit to hold your puppy and sign the Purchase Agreement.
Schedule Your Pickup Window
We’ll coordinate a date at our location in Oronogo, MO once your puppy is ready (typically 8–10 weeks).
Pre-Pickup Checklist (1–3 days before)
Set your first vet visit within 72 hours of pickup.
Arrange final payment (see Payment Details).
Bring: government ID, a travel crate or carrier, collar & leash, and a small towel/blanket.
Day-Of Pickup
Arrive on time at the agreed location.
Meet your puppy and review the Go-Home Packet (vaccination/deworming record, microchip info, health certificate if applicable, feeding & care guide, copy of your signed agreement).
Complete any remaining forms and final payment (if not already settled).
Travel Home Tips
Plan a straight trip home with minimal stops.
Offer water and allow calm rest; avoid dog parks and public floors until your vet clears vaccinations.
After You’re Home
Attend your vet exam within 72 hours to validate your Health Guarantee.
Register the microchip and follow the feeding/transition guide we provide.
Payment Details (Pickup): Cash or cashier’s check accepted at pickup; electronic payments must clear before the appointment. We do not accept personal checks on the day of pickup.
A) Professional Ground Transport (Door-to-Door)
Best for: Families wanting home delivery with lower weather risk.
How it works—Step-by-Step
Quote & Route: We request a quote from trusted, licensed and insured transporters.
Booking: You approve the timeline and cost; shipping fee is paid in full to confirm.
Vet Clearance: We obtain a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI/Health Certificate) if required by your state.
Pickup & Transit: Your puppy travels in a climate-controlled vehicle with planned rest, water, and sanitation stops.
Live Updates: You’ll receive ETA updates from the transporter.
Delivery: Inspect your puppy on arrival and acknowledge safe delivery.
Notes: Transit time varies by route/season. Weather, traffic, and logistics may affect ETAs.
B) Airline Cargo (Live Animal Program) Weather & Hub Availability Dependent
Best for: Reaching distant destinations efficiently when weather and airline routes permit.
How it works—Step-by-Step
Eligibility: Puppy age/weight must meet airline rules; no sedation permitted.
Booking: We prioritize non-stop or shortest routes. You approve the itinerary; fees paid in full.
Crate & Prep: We provide an IATA-compliant crate labeled “Live Animal,” with absorbent bedding and attached food/water cups.
Vet Clearance: We secure a CVI/Health Certificate within the airline’s required window.
Flight Day: We check in your puppy at the cargo facility and share flight and tracking details.
Pickup at Destination: You collect your puppy at the airline cargo office with ID.
Weather Policy: Airlines may embargo pets during extreme heat/cold. If weather forces a delay, we’ll rebook the soonest safe itinerary.
C) Flight Nanny (In-Cabin Courier) — When Available
Best for: Hand-carried, in-cabin delivery to your nearest major airport.
How it works—Step-by-Step
Quote & Dates: We coordinate with a vetted flight nanny and confirm availability.
Payment & Booking: You approve the itinerary; fees paid in full.
Handover at Airport: We meet the nanny for departure; you meet the nanny at arrivals for handoff.
ID Check & Inspection: Verify identity, inspect your puppy, and sign receipt.
What’s Included with Every Shipment/Pickup
Go-Home Packet: Vaccination/deworming record, feeding guide, microchip information, care tips.
CVI/Health Certificate: Provided when required for interstate travel or airline policies.
Crate (Airline Cargo only): IATA-compliant travel crate labeled for live animals.
Support: We’re available for questions before, during, and after delivery.
Your Responsibilities
Final Payment: Due before shipping or at pickup (per method).
Photo ID: Required for pickup and airline cargo release.
72-Hour Vet Exam: Schedule and complete to maintain your Health Guarantee.
Safe Arrival Check: Inspect your puppy upon delivery; notify us immediately of any concerns.
Delays, Rescheduling & Cancellations
Weather & Operational Delays: We will assist with rebooking the next safe, available date.
Buyer-Initiated Changes: Rescheduling within 72 hours of departure may incur rebooking fees charged by the carrier or nanny.
Non-Refundable Costs: Shipping fees, crates, airline/handler charges are not refundable once booked.
Fallback Plan: If shipping becomes impractical due to extended embargoes, we’ll discuss ground transport or reschedule to the next safe window.

Do you ship internationally?
Currently we focus on the continental U.S. International options may be considered case-by-case if regulations and logistics allow.
Can you hold my puppy longer?
Yes—short extensions may be possible. A board & care fee may apply for stays beyond the agreed go-home date.
Can I choose the exact flight or delivery date?
We’ll do our best to honor preferences; final schedules depend on weather, routing, and carrier availability.
What if I’m running late for pickup?
Please notify us as soon as possible. A late or no-show fee may apply if we need to reschedule.
Is shipping included in the puppy price?
No. Shipping/transport is separate and quoted based on method, distance, and timing.
